What's wrong with this picture?

It's Greer and Man-du and side dishes...only we are not in Korea, we're in Auckland! It is so nice to have one of my lovely K-buds here with me - we try to catch up every Friday over Bibimbap. Any of our friends from all over the world are most welcome to join us... *hint hint*

eco-organics

My new favourite thing at the moment is ordering boxes of organic, in season vegetables and fruit online and getting them delivered to my door. Every week is a surprise box of goodness!

Waiheke Island

Mum and Michael came up for a visit from Dunedin and we decided to take the ferry over to Waiheke Island. We weren't really sure what to do for the day...we had some lunch, popped in to the art gallery and went into a wee shop that altered second hand clothing and who was to be sitting behind the counter than lovely Rose who I went to art school with. (Oh I love New Zealand sometimes!) She promptly shut up her store and we walked along beaches with her and her beautiful dog.

Rainbow's End

When you're a child from Dunedin, Auckland City seems so much bigger and more populated than what you would ever know. The pinnacle of "big city" in Auckland is the fact that they have an amusement park. When I first went to Rainbow's End, I was 11: the Gold Rush ride was newly open, the Log Boat drop was outrageous and the Rollercoaster was out of control. Fourteen years later we rocked on up to the giant rainbow entrance (which was looking a little derelict and rusty.)
Most of the rides were 10% anticipation, 90% disappointment.

The 3D experience was just weird.

The pirate ship had a nice swing feel, as usual.

I even went on the Big Drop (which I NEVER usually do) to get my rush. I don't need to go on it again...

But when you're running around an amusement park with a great group of friends, what can be lame about that? (Maybe that last sentence...)
